Working on a 95 E-350 with the 7.3 PS for my Church.
We recently put a good E4OD in it from an Ambulance that looked more like the 4R100 with a plug in the tail sensor spot.
At WOT, it shifts perfectly!
If I give it half throttle or between about 40% and 80% and barely gets above 1600 rpms (per my Edge Insight because Van engineers suck) before shifting to the next gear and of course in 3rd locks up the torque converter.
If I am at 0% to 40% idle it shifts closer to 1200 rpms.
It's icy here in North Pole and going WOT is not a very good idea very often 7+ months a year.
I found articles about adjusting the TPS, but then realized it was for the IDI motors. Anybody have an ideas? I'm not throwing codes either. Bus does have 4.10 gears and rolls around just great otherwise.

Sounds like it could be a shift selenoid going bad. Does it act up better/depending on Trans Temp at all?

I will reverify tonight.
It didn't seem nearly as bad before I plugged in my Edge Insight which shouldn't have affected anything.
It seemed worse after getting all warmed up.
The van idles just over 600 rpms. I need to find a cheap solution to kick the idle up to assist the warm up times.

Not at this time.

I would start with pulling all the electrical connectors off the Trans, clean them all, check for bent pins. See if that helps. What ATF are you running? When I had my e4od built Ford recommended MerconV... It did not like that at all, had similiar symptoms that you're describing. Dropped the Fluid and flushed it, replaced with DexMerc3 and that solved it for mine.

The E4OD we pulled out of this thing seemed to have pressure issues after we put Amsoil in it. Put DEXMerc3 back in and it worked fine for 150 miles before it decided it's life was over......But that's more on the me for going full throttle up several hills with the cold front on with no trans temp gauge.....Whoops
This one has DexMerc3 in it. I am not doing that again.

Did you do a filter in it? Could be clogged. I'm guessing you probably did.

Well, I need to admit stupidity.... 2.5 quarts low.
Worked fine when cold, got worse after warm up. Checked the level and saw it was low. Topped off and it works fine now.
Well at least it was a cheap and easy fix.
