Good looking truck bud. These old OBS are awesome because they are reliable and for a work truck will do everything you need

Well, I have decided to move forward with building and configuring my own fuel system on my OBS. As most of you know, the stock Ford system...leaves something to be desired. I'll post a thorough walkthrough and parts list when its done, but here's the meat and veggies. The setup I'm trying to design is based on the idea of having more fuel than I'll ever need, but the convenience of being able to tune and adjust it for whatever I want. I want it to be reliable, but it will be setup with redundancy in mind should a failure occur I'm not stranded. I'm going to be running 2x 99-03 Super Duty Bosch electric fuel pumps, which will be y'd together with individual isolators in case one should fail. My thought behind 2 of these pumps is that they last forever, and I won't be overworking one pump. If one fails, simply turn the valves and isolate that pump. This will be in conjunction with a set of filter heads with pre and post pump CAT filters/water seperator. I've decided to run 1/2" fuel line for the entire system. I'll be retaining the factory fuel tank selector valve and switch. I will also be adding 2x BD Performance sumps, one in each tank. I like the idea of sumps, they'll help keep from burning up the electric pumps, and it gets me out of having to drop the tanks to upgrade to 5/8" draw tubes to eliminate the "air in the system below 1/4 tank". Deleting the stock fuel bowl, FPR and mechanical lift pump, which should open up some room in the valley if I decide to go dual hpop's in the future. The hole for the stock lift pump will get a 7/8" freeze plug. Going to utilize a Fuelab 515 series regulator for a regulated return system. Will also be changing how the injectors get fuel delivered. My setup will feed fuel to both heads through the rear ports in the heads and return to the regulator, then back to the tanks through the front. This should eliminate the "dead head" fuel setup, and prevent #8 injector knock. There's some more to it, but that's the basics of it. Hoping this setup should hold a constant pressure of 65-70psi at WOT.

Love the OBS! Was debating on holding out for just the right one or not, but decided to go a little newer when I bought. Looking forward to seeing the progression!
